Google has partnered with Lenovo to launch a new Meet hardware lineup for video conferencing at the post-pandemic workplaces. Called ‘Google Meet Series One’, the new hardware includes a camera, soundbar with eight mics, and touchscreen remote. Google Meet the Series One hardware uses the latest in AI to deliver enhanced audio and video clarity and also utilizes its voice amplification technology TrueVoice.

Due to the increased demand for collaboration tools during the COVID-19 crisis is increasing, So video conferencing and collaboration players in hardware and software are increasingly turning to hardware-as-a-service plans and bundled hardware and software offerings.

We can assume that the video conferencing battle will continue beyond the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Smart Audio Bar uses onboard Google Edge TPUs to deliver TrueVoice® – a proprietary, multi-channel noise cancellation technology that removes unwanted sounds and crystallizes human voices for a balanced, high fidelity experience.

The “Small Room Kit,” which comes with a Smart Camera, Smart Audio Bar, Compute System, and remote control, costs a whopping $2,699. You can pay $2,999 for the Medium Room Kit and $3,999 for the Large Room Kit, which offer more hardware.

There’s a 12MP Smart Camera and, for bigger conference rooms, a 20.3MP Smart Camera XL.

Made just for Google Meet with an Intel i7 processor and Google Edge TPUs built in, the compute system is made to handle the taxing demands of video conferencing along with running the latest in Google AI as efficiently and reliably as possible.

The touch control display, powered by a single ethernet cable lists active meetings and allows for room and setting controls. You can also join touch-free by saying, “Hey Google, join the meeting”.

With only the Meet Compute System requiring AC power, the system components are connected using the included, color-coded ethernet cables to reduce clutter, cost, and installation time. An Add-on Audio Bar and additional Mic Pods are daisy chained to make expanding the system as easy as possible.

Powered by onboard Google Edge TPUs, TrueVoice is groundbreaking audio isolation technology that identifies sounds and voices. In real time, Google AI eliminates the distracting sounds like keyboard typing, phone vibrations, and crinkling snack packaging while amplifying human voices for consistent volume regardless of their proximity to the microphones. It’s crystal clear audio for participants with less distraction and meeting fatigue.
