A cabinet meeting was held on Tuesday chaired by Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, where several key decisions were taken. In this meeting, The CoM approved the Assam Official Language Amendment Bill for making Bodo, the associate official language of the state.

The other key points as follows: 

Easing the path of progress, the CoM approved land acquisition through direct purchase under existing rules for the development of State Highways and major district roads under Asom Mala & EAPs.

The CoM approved the bifurcation of the Directorate of Social Welfare into the two new:

Heavy check markDirectorate of Social Justice and Empowerment

 

For further development works, the CoM approved a loan of ₹ 91 crore from NABARD to be taken by GoA under RIDF.

The CoM approved service benefits of NHM employees. These will include 60 years service, EL etc.

 

The CoM passed the Bill, Provincialisation of the posts of Librarians in Degree Colleges.

The CoM approved amendments to the Kamatapur, Moran, Motok Autonomous Council acts wherein provisions were introduced for interim government formation.

 

The CoM approved the setting up of the Bodo Kachari Welfare Autonomous Council.

The CoM approved taking over the Kokrajhar Music and Fine Arts College and the Asom Sattriya Sangit Mahavidyalaya in Jorhat by the Govt of Assam.
