Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Kiren Rijiju lays foundation stones for various sports facilities in Leh today. The Minister will lay the foundation for a Synthetic Track & AstroTurf for football in Leh at an open stadium and for a Gymnasium hall in NDS indoor stadium in Leh.

As per Minister Mr. Kiran Rijiju, the country has taken challenges thrown by Covid-19 Pandemic head-on and moving forward under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi. He said that the volunteers from his Ministry are sensitizing, creating awareness, and assisting the needy people during the Pandemic. He also said that sportspersons are undergoing training at various centers, for the 2021 Olympics to be held in Tokyo.

The project is to be completed by January 2021 with a cost of 10.35 crore.

The sports ministry is developing infrastructure in the region and it is to be created in Leh will be a step forward for sports Development in the Union Territory Ladakh. Union Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju also inaugurates Fit India Cyclothon, a 25 Km Cycle Rally, in Leh.

 

Kiren Rijiju’s Official Twitter account posted about the event, “Taking the Fit India Movement to Leh.  @KirenRijiju led a Fit India Cyclothon in the pristine landscape of Leh this morning as part of the month-and-half-long Fit India Freedom Run from Aug 15-Oct 2.’

 

Minister said that, with a Special focus to tap the natural talent in Ladakh, the sports ministry is developing infrastructure in the region. The facilities to be created in Leh will be a step forward for sports Development in the Union Territory Ladakh.
