Popular streaming app Netflix is hosting StreamFest starting December 5 to December 6. During the StreamFest everyone in India will get a free Netflix subscription. Anyone in India can watch all the blockbuster films, the biggest series, award-winning documentaries and reality shows for two days.
The company believes that the move will allow non-subscribers to experience the service for free. The move is aimed at bringing new users to the platform that competes against players like Amazon Prime Video, Disney+ Hotstar and Zee5 in the burgeoning OTT (over the top) market in India.
To access it, visit netflix.com/StreamFest, sign up with your name, email or phone number, and password, and start streaming — no credit or debit card or payment needed.Users logging onto StreamFest will be able to access every feature that members currently use like creating Profiles (including Kids’ Profiles), set Parental Controls, browse Netflix in Hindi, add series or films to ‘My List’, watch with subtitles or dubs, use Smart Downloads on mobile, and see the Top 10 list.
Netflix has 195.15 million paid subscribers worldwide as of the third quarter of 2020.
How to register for free Netflix for StreamFest 2020?
The StreamFest will begin on December 5 12:01 am and continue until December 6 11:59 pm.
Visit Netflix.com/StreamFest or download the Android app from the Google Play Store on your mobile phone.
You can then sign up with your name, email or phone number, and password at : netflix.com/StreamFest
Netflix also allows you to visit Netflix.com/StreamFest and set a reminder with your email or phone number. The company will inform you when StreamFest goes live.
Anyone who signs in for the StreamFest will be able to get one stream in standard definition (SD). This means that no one can use the same login information to stream. Once you sign up via the Android app or a browser, you can use that login to watch Netflix on any device including smart TV, gaming console, and iOS device.
In a bid to attract more subscribers in India, Netflix also introduced a low-cost mobile streaming plan at Rs 199. This means that the subscriber can watch shows on their Netflix app only by paying a monthly sum of Rs 199.
