This year, over 14.37 lakh candidates appeared for the medical entrance exam on September 13 despite the pandemic. The NTA will announce NEET UG Results 2020 in online mode, which can be checked on the official website or at

Candidates should note that NEET 2020 result can only be downloaded up to 90 days from the date of declaration.

How to check result (how to check NEET result 2020)

The results of NEET can be found on the official website of NTA For this, students have to have a roll number inscribed on their admit card, whose information can be seen on the website by entering their score card. To see the NEET result, follow these steps:

  1. Visit the official website of NTA
  2. Click on the download result link
  3. Enter your registration number and roll number
  4. After this, you will see the result on the screen
  5. You can download it and keep it for future reference

Candidates will be able to download their scorecard from the NTA Exam portal, which will contain all these details-

  • Candidate Roll Number
  • Application number
  • Personal details (name, father’s name, mother’s name, etc.)
  • Percentage of marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology
  • Total marks obtained
  • Percentage point
  • NEET 2020 All India Rank
  • NEET qualifying status
  • NEET All India Rank for 15% AIQ seats
  • NEET cut off score

NTA was directed to conduct NEET-UG exam 2020 for students who couldn’t attend it previously due to the COVID-19 pandemic. After conducting exams for them on October 14, the SC observed that the NTA should announce the final result for all by October 16.

Union Cabinet Minister for Education Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank had on October 12 announced on Twitter that NEET-UG 2020 results will be announced on 16th October 2020. “The exact timing of the results will be intimated later. I wish all the best to the candidates,” he tweeted.

Once the final answer key is released, candidates who appeared for the exam, can check it for all sets (E1-E6, F1-F6, G1-G6, H1-H6) by visiting the official website of the NTA.

Along with the result, NTA would also release the NEET 2020 Rank List for All India Quota. The State-wise merit lists would be shared with the respective authorities which would conduct the counseling for 85 per cent medical and dental seats.

NTA will also prepare the All India Rank list based on NEET 2020 marks. Counseling will take place based on the rank list.

It is worth mentioning here that for admission to MBBS / BSD courses, the candidates have to pass in NEET. For this, students need to be at least 50 percentile. For SC / ST category candidates, the minimum qualification is 40%, while for PwD candidates it is 45%. It is required for admission to medical colleges.

Neet was delayed this time due to Coronavirus infection. It was postponed twice before the examination was held on 13 September. Earlier this examination was to be held on May 3, but at that time it was postponed till July 26. After this, it was postponed once more, after which the examination was held on 13 September.

National Testing Agency (NTA) has been established as an autonomous organization to conduct entrance examinations for admission/fellowship in higher educational institutions.

As per regulations framed under the Indian Medical Council Act -1956 and the Dentists Act-1948, NEET (UG) 2019 was be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses in Indian Medical/Dental Colleges run with the approval of Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India except for AIIMS and JIPMER Puducherry.

NTA NEET result will be used for admissions to around 80,005 MBBS, 26,949 BDS, 52,720 AYUSH, and 525 BVSc & AH seats across India. This year, admissions to 1205 seats in 15 AIIMS and 2 JIPMER institutes will be included in the All India counselling.
