Actress Shilpa Shetty Kundra, choreographer Geeta Kapur and filmmaker Anurag Basu will appear on an upcoming episode of Super Dancer Chapter 4 in traditional Arunachal Pradesh attire.

The wardrobe, including wraparound skirts, traditional headgear and accessories, were gifted by participant Kosum’s mother, who hails from Arunanchal Pradesh.

“I always love trying different attires, and the traditional costumes of Arunachal Pradesh are unique and fascinating. It shows their aesthetic style and enthusiasm for embellishment. Kosum’s mom made my wish come true,” said Geeta Kapur.

Shilpa Shetty Kundra added: “The state of Arunachal Pradesh is brimmed with diverse socio-cultures and an exquisite collection of handloom. The art and the precision of the handicraft speak volumes of the superiority of these costumes. I am so thankful to Kosum and his mother for being so thoughtful and gifting us these gorgeous attires. I can’t seem to get enough of my look.”

Shilpa Shetty also said filmmaker Anurag Basu is fun to be with on the set of the dance reality show. “Dada is fun to be around with. He is like a mischievous kid on the set. He is always making us laugh and has a peculiar style of speaking which is entertaining and endearing,” she said.

She added that he is a big prankster. “He is always up to some prank and looks for an opportunity to pull our leg. But, on a serious note, Dada is warm and affectionate and playing pranks is his way of expressing that affection. Both Geeta and I enjoy his company,” she said.

Choreographer Geeta Kapur, meanwhile, said it is important for contestants to enjoy their performances. She said that while bringing artistes on board for this season, a criterion was to rope in performers who were confident enough to enjoy their performances on stage.

“The celebration of dance is as crucial as the technique and the form. It’s important to have fun on stage even when you’re in a competition. We want to bring forth talent who enjoy what they do as that reflects in their performances as well,” she said.
