Actor Adil Hussain will be awarded Honourary Ph.D. The Honourary Ph.D. (Honoris Causa) degree will be given at the 4th KKHSOU Convocation (Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University Convocation) on 21st March. Recently, Assam actor Adil Hussain won the Critics Choice Award for the Best Actor (short film) for Abhiroop Basu’s Meal. CCSSA (Critics Choice Short Stories Award) congratulated Adil Hussain for winning the award.

Not only this he has been honored with the Outstanding Achievement award at the Bagri Foundation London Indian Film Festival 2020 for his ‘incredible contribution to global cinema’.
Hussain won the Best Actor – New Jersey Independent South Asian Cine Fest in 2012 for Lesson in Forgetting, Best Actor Prag Cine Awards in 2014 for Raag: The Rhythm of Love, National Film Award- Special Jury Award/ Special Mention (Feature film) for Mukti Bhawan in 2017.
Internationally acclaim Assam actor Adil has been chosen for a crucial part in the British-Indian feature film Footprints of Water. The movie is based on the story of an illegal immigrant father in the UK who is frantically searching for his missing daughter while avoiding the police radar. Hussain will portray the character of the father.
Adil Hussain is set to play the role of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in the movie ‘Battle for Bengal’ depicting Bangladesh’s freedom struggle. The movie will be made by the famed director of ‘Delhi Crime’, Richie Mehta.
The story of the movie will center around the struggles of liberating Bangladesh from the hands of treacherous Pakistani soldiers. The film which was supposed to be released on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Bangladesh’s independence got postponed due to the pandemic.

International film and theatre artiste actor has been awarded the best actor for the role of Buchchi Paswan in the film Pareeksha at the Indo German Film Week in Berlin on 30th September. Pareeksha – The Final Test is a Hindi- language drama film that was released in 2019. The film was directed by Prakash Jha. Priyanka Bose, Sanjay Suri, Shourya Deep, and Shubham Jha acted in the main roles alongside Adil Hussain.
The international acclaimed actor has conferred the National film award – Special jury award in 2017 for the film Hotel Salvation.
He will also be seen in Dr. Bezbarua 2, the sequel of path-breaking thriller in the history of Assamese Film ‘Dr Bezbarua’ (1968). Dr. Bezbarua 2 will be Directed by Renowned Assamese Actor Nipon Goswami, Story, Screenplay & Dialogues by Rajdweep
