Junaid Sehrai, top Hizbul Mujahideen commander killed

It’s a major victory for Indian security forces in Kashmir as Hizbul Mujahideen’s top Commandar  Junaid Sehrai and his associates was killed in a gunfight in Srinagar. Sehrai was the son of separatist group Tehreek-e-Hurriyat’s Chairman Ashraf Sehrai and new Hizbul Mujahideen Chief in Kashmir Valley Saifullah. Police had precise information about Sehrai and his associates as they were trapped in densely located area of Nawakadal in downtown Srinagar on Tuesday.

A joint operation along with the paramilitary CRPF started at night and in this occurrence three security forces personnel (two policemen and a trooper) were injured. Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police Dilbag Singh confirmed the identity of the terrorists & two weapons and several rounds of ammunition were recovered from them.

After this occurrence, mobile Internet was snapped in Srinagar and voice calling, except for BSNL services, was suspended.
